Salmagundi Club Welcomes CHF’s Daniel DiGriz

Our very own educational and programming director, Daniel DiGriz, is now a confirmed member of the Salmagundi Club. The Salmagundi Club is for professional artists and patrons of the arts (Daniel is the latter) and boasts members not only in NYC, where it’s headquartered, but around the world. It’s also part of the tradition of private clubs in New York, like the Coffee House Club, Players Club, and Lotos Club, but with a twist–it’s as outwardly engaged with the public and the community as it is a special source of privileges and opportunities for its members. Daniel took an interest in the club when he interviewed Tim Newton for The Thriving Artist Podcast, and discovered his own quiet support of living and legacy artists and art collection were a “thing”. “I confess to being a little in awe of Tim,” Daniel has said. “He’s brought so much to New York, the world, and specifically the arts. I feel like I want to have my picture taken whenever we meet. Except he’s not like that–not a glory seeker. He’s just working diligently, along with the rest of Salmagundi to ensure public engagement with visual art and artists. I admire him endlessly.” Daniel, Tim Newton, and Elizabeth Hulings recently met at Salmagundi to discuss the opportunities presented by a whole new generation of visual artists and art patrons. “I’m looking forward to enthusiastic participation and a long partnership,” Daniel said.
