On July 23rd, Volunteer Lawyers For The Arts is offering a workshop that will provide useful information about starting an arts-related for-profit business, and will focus on New York LLCs.
In this workshop, they will discuss:
- Legal characteristics of different types of business entities
- Basic steps to forming an LLC in New York, including choosing a corporate name, filing the Articles of Organization, the publication requirement, and suggestions for drafting an operating agreement
- Employment issues for new business owners
