Ghost of a Dream, a collaboration between Adam Eckstrom and Lauren Was, will be presenting their When the Smoke Clears: The Fair Housing Project at Smack Mellon starting on September 24th. The Clark Hulings Foundation funded technical materials and transportation of the installation through its Business Accelerator Program.
The Fair Housing Project is an installation that takes refuse taken from art fairs and uses it as a commentary on the contemporary art world to create a small house and other art objects. Visitors will be able to see the house, which was also filmed, documentary style, disappearing into a sea of fog. Viewers will be immersed in an experience of epic proportions and will be forced to consider how current art world impacts artists, collectors, and artworks themselves.
