San Francisco’s Wonderland SF gallery presents Urban Jungle, an exhibition of the work of several local artists, among them Calvin Lai, a 2017 CHF Fellow. The show will feature some of Calvin’s most recent oil paintings, which offer his interpretation of San Francisco. transforming the city’s grime through his unique vision. The opening reception takes place on April 22nd, 2017.
Calvin is best known for his portraiture and figurative work, and his style combines classical realism with expressive modern techniques. The paintings in this show give him the opportunity to interpret the environment in which he lives, guided by a philosophy of finding beauty in the mysterious.
