A graduate of Ohio’s Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Dean L. Mitchell is well known for his figurative works, landscapes, and still lifes. In addition to working in watercolors, he is also accomplished in egg temperas, oils, and pastels. He has been featured in numerous publications, including American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, ARTnews, The Christian Science Monitor, Fine Art, Fine Art Connoisseur, and The New York Times.
Dean’s paintings can be found in corporate and museum collections across the United States, and he has received medals and awards from Allied Artists of America, the American Watercolor Society, the Autry National Center of the American West, the Mississippi Watercolor Society, Remington Professional League, and the Salmagundi Club. He is also a member of several professional societies, including the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society.
