Belgin Yücelen’s sculpture Eternity is Ours and her print Floating Tales will be displayed at the Edge of Excess II exhibition at the Foundry Art Center in Saint Charles, Missouri, from May 11 until June 22, 2018.
Belgin is a Clark Hulings Foundation Business Accelerator Fellow who works in a variety of media. Of Eternity is Ours, pictured at left, Belgin says: “What amazes me the most about goddess figurines is that people have been creating them for almost 40,000 years and there is still not a clear understanding of their purpose. As for me I know: they are here as a result of a search for selfless beauty. I created these goddess figures to honor this ancient purpose.” See more of Belgin’s work on her personal site.
