Advisory Board Member
An avid art collector, Tim Newton is the chairman of the board of directors of the Salmagundi Club, one of the oldest art organizations in the United States. Housed in an historic brownstone mansion in New York City’s Greenwich Village, the nonprofit club has been a meeting place for artists and art aficionados since 1871, offering classes, exhibitions, painting demonstrations, and art auctions throughout the year, both for members and the general public. The club owns a collection of over 1,500 works of art spanning its 140 year history and has a membership of nearly 850 artists and patrons.
Tim is also the founder and curator of the club’s American Masters Fine Art Exhibition and Sale, which takes place annually, and he serves on the board of Artists’ Fellowship, Inc., a charitable foundation that assists artists and their families in times of emergency, disability, or bereavement.
