Accelerator Personal Project Manager
Patrick Diamond is a collaborative artist and stage director, for both operas and plays. Select productions include: the centennial revival of Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose at Wolf Trap in Virginia; the devised opera, drömseminarium/ dream seminar at Västmanlandsmusiken in Sweden; The Dido Project, with the quintet Sybarite5, at the Time Warner Center in New York City; the US professional premiere of Moniuszko’s Halka at Sarasota Opera; and the premieres of several plays by A. Rey Pamatmat, in various locations. Pat has also directed multiple works by Mozart, Puccini, Janáček, Shakespeare, Britten, as well as pieces by Mayakovsky, Verdi, Calderón de la Barca, and American playwrights Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Sharon Cooper, Eric Sanders, Kathryn Walat, and Aury Wallington.
He has extensive experience working in both profit and nonprofit contexts, as a producer, art-business administrator, and teacher. Pat is a founder of the Director Collective performance lab, and he produces and develops work through his company Jaleo LLC. He teaches acting in the Graduate Opera Studio of the Manhattan School of Music, as well as in American Opera Projects’ Composers and the Voice program. He is the director of the Yale Summer Conservatory (Directing), and has been on the faculty of the University of Maryland and the Aspen Music Festival and School. He has also been a guest artist at the University of Michigan, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and NYU.
